25 September 2023.- A recent study published by the InterFAB coordination platform lays great stress on the necessity of precise traffic forecasts and its influence on cost and resource planning. In the past, not only have air traffic forecasts turned out to be mostly imprecise, but there has been no study on the relationship between traffic forecasts and environmental aspects either. By using state-of-the-art methods, the present study finds answers to both aspects and determines interdependencies of capacity, environment, and costs. The study also emphasizes the need for a homogeneous database on an ANSP basis rather than a country-based one.

23 September 2023. - A new report, published by the InterFAB Task Force Fragmentation, shines a light on new topics related to fragmentation such as new technologies or legislations. Although addressing fragmentation is a policy objective for SES and therefore for the European Commission, there has been little work on it for a number of years.

The 4th InterFAB Performance Workshop has already taken place. This time it was hosted by the BALTIC FAB in Vilnius (Lithuania), on October 23-24, 2019. 

On behalf of INTERFAB, coordination platform of the functional airspace blocks, we are pleased to invite you to the 4th InterFAB Performance Workshop. A two-day research workshop took place in Budapest from 14-15 May to examine the positive and negative effects of fragmentation on air traffic management. Academics and stakeholders from all areas of the aviation industry gathered for a mutual exchange of ideas at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

21 March 2019; FABEC OPS Theatre hosted two interFAB panels in which operational experts from six different Functional Airspace Blocks and the Network Manager exchanged views about fragmentation and the capacity crisis in front of a wide international audience.

The 4th InterFAB Communication Workshop, hosted by FABEC, took place on 15/16 January 2019 at the DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH premises in Frankfurt Langen.
